Choices II - a sequel to Choices

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

each of us has 2 distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. the first choice we can make is to be less that we have the capacity to be. to earn less. to have less. to read less and think less. to try less and discipline ourselves less. these are the choices that lead to an empty life. these are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

and the second choice is to do it all. to become all that we can possibly be. to read every book that we possibly can. to strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. all of us have this choice. to do or not to do. to be or not to be. to be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

like a tree, it would be a worthy challenge for us to stretch upward and outward to the full measure of our capabilities. why not do all that we can, every moment that we can, the best that we can, for as long as we can……….

an ultimate life objective should be to create as much as our talent and ability. then, desire shall permit. to settle for doing less that we can do is to fail in this worthiest of undertakings.

results are the best measurement of human progress. it is not conversation or explanation or justification. it’s results….if our results are less than our potential suggests that should be, then we must strive to become more today than we the day before.

the greatest rewards are always reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them as a result of who and what they have become.

all aBout attractiveness

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

when we are asked to define what "attractive" means, the majority of us respond with a long list of desirable physical attributes that are usually paralleled to movie star looks and body types. the same is true when we are asked the question "what would you like to change about yourself to make you more attrative?" we instinctively refer to this same list.

is this wrong? no, not necessarily. physical appearance has proven to weigh heavily in first impressions. althou being physically attractive can create more opportunities for us, if you are not able to live up to the impressions others have coming in, then it really doesnt help you going forward. besides, many highly successful people clearly do not have physical attractiveness working fo them. at least not as a first imprssion. where they excel is in their ability to maximize their opportunities to win others over. they may not get as many opportunities, based on their physical appearance, but they make the most of what they have.

we have all met someone who at first glance was not overtly attractive but as we got to know them better, with each new meeting or encounter, their level of attractiveness steadily increased. most of us can’t even define what it is that they have that is responsible for their growig level of attractiveness. we call it personally, charisma, charm, magnetism, allure or even mystique.

but how are these personas actually conveyed to others? what is it that they do to have this effect on others? contrary to popular belief, people are not born with it. it is an acquired skill that anyone can have. are you having this effect on others you meet? are you able to quickly gain trust, respect and admiration? the key component that defines your level of success is how you project yourself both physically and verbally. althou this may be simplistic, its amazing how few of us take full advantage of this powerful skill.

……all that you need is the willingness to make changes and the knowledge to put it to use.

motivate, motivation, motivated…

Friday, September 28th, 2007

people always say that motivation never last. well, neither does life.

by definition motivation means that which motivates, that which makes us to take action towards our desired goals and which gives purpose and direction to those action.

now, all i know is that very often we lose motivation and we allow procrastination to dominate our life. without our motivation we stop taking action and doing the things we really want to do, we stop achieving the things we really want to achieve and we stop believing we are capable of becoming whoever we wanted to be.

the secret to beating procrastination is that we need to keep ourself motivated. just by doing something, anything, whether it’s listening to a favourite song, playing piano, going for that morning run with your love pet, or simply writing some poems.

motivation leads to energy, energy leads to ideas. when you have the idea, you dream, you pursue those dream and your unbounded faith that you achieve them and more.

so, look at the choices you have now in life, decide which path to take from.

Choices

Friday, September 28th, 2007

we wish…somehow we can discipline ourselves to change it all. we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. we wish, we can start a new activity. we wish, we can start the process of life change. we wish, we are millionaire. we can do it immediately, or tomorrow, or next week, or next month or next year.

we may also doing nothing. we can pretend rather than perform. if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. we can choose rest over labour; entertainment over education; delusion over truth and doubt over confidence. the choices are ours to make. but while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish te cause. we created our circumstances by our post choices. we have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today. those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. they need the truth. they need the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

do not allow ourselves to make errors in judgement, repeated every day, to lead us down the wrong path. it is a must to keep coing back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how our life works out. then make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into our daily lives.

if we do not like how things are, change it! we have the ability to totally transform every area in our life and it all begins with  our very own power of choice.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….plants flowers, fish ….and me.

Friday, September 21st, 2007

i’d always like to take a nature observtion walk, even if it’s only my home studying my houseplants or my fish. i’d like to see the forms and patterns of the nature. everyone of that were no unwanted by life, they were not here by an accident, they have a purpose.

i discover that i’m blooming in the infinite pattern of the universe.

i embody; spent flowers, opening blossoms; tiny buds of the ever-new me.

and i realize too that i am a necessary part of the Big plan, an ever-new detail in the universal geometry. No one else can fulfill my role here, but only me.

in the circle of life, endings and beginnings are necessary passages and transformations.

sometimes it is required that you find a new way to bloom where you are, or end what does not work in your life.

whichever you choose, it is always a new beginning that will ripple with consequences.

we are who we are on our path right now, the obstacles we have left behind, the rivers of experience we would love to dip a toe into, the mysteries of the path ahead, the daily down-payment steps we’re taking to be true to our own goal destinations - even and especially when it’s hard, or when no one honours our dream.

I am not the path i have trod.

I am more than my overcomings, more than my achievements.

I am me.

I give myself the gift of stepping into my dream on my own soul’s path.

a Cup of steaming souL

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

as i’m gazing thru the rain from my balcony, i prepare a hot cup of my favourite beverage - a cup of hot latte;

as i sip, i experience the steam, the aroma, the flavour, the colour of the liquid, especially the warmth of the cup, even the memories of other moments wth such steaming cup.

I’m thinking about my musings. I’m staying in that moment. That moment is one of the soul’s blessings.

then, i leave a tablespoon an two dregs in te cup.

suddenly i have an idea….

with a cotton swab, i dip into the cup and started painting shapes using the liquid i have been drinking.

and, i realize that life is indeed an art.

everything in our world is a tool for beauty and a connection to ourselves and all the elements of the universe.

Life is good, especially in its most ordinary moments.
